  • Hello!

    Thank you for stopping by!
My name is Josette, the photographer
    here at [ exposures by j.linnea ]

Let it be known that I have a "slight" obsession with finding
the perfect light and photographing beautiful people
within that light. Whether it's a maternity session,
    your newborn, your precious baby,
growing children, family, or your high school senior,
I would love to be the one to capture those moments!

Your session can be held in our gorgeous loft studio
in the heart of downtown Fargo, North Dakota....
but I also love to shoot outdoors.
In fact, the golden hour before sunset is my
absolute favorite time to have an outdoor session!
I serve the Fargo-Moorhead and surrounding region.

Take a look through my PORTFOLIO of
images and if you like my style of photography,
    shoot me an 101,109,97,105,108liame.
    Let's make a date!

I love how ideas come to me for photo shoots. One day in the early part of last fall,

I was out shopping at Target and I saw this cute white and grey teepee. I stood there

thinking about all the reasons I needed this teepee and started envisioning some

really cute photo shoots with little boys. I knew it wouldn’t be long and the busy

fall photography season we were entering would turn into a few quieter winter

months up at my studio. It didn’t take me long to convince myself that I had to have it.

I always try to think of something fun to do for winter MINI sessions…..so there it was.

Teepee MINI sessions for boys….but what about the girls??

I stayed in that aisle a little longer and looked at all the other cute

Pillowfort furniture and pillows, blankets, all kinds of cute stuff. I love the Pillowfort brand

Target carries now, by the way! If you are not familiar with it, definitely

check it out! Anyway, it wasn’t long and I had come up with my idea for the girls. I already had

a set of white Pillowfort kids chairs….all I would need was a cute table and then

I could do it! Tea party MINI sessions! Well, a few months later, I bought the cute

little pink table with the scalloped edge that you’ll see in these photos.

I was all set! I don’t know about other photographers, but for me, I’m a very visual person

and I often need to see things, see something, that sets in motion the ideas that

come to me and then get busy with all the fun that goes along with executing my visions and

turning them into reality. And now the MINI sessions are well underway and I am enjoying them

so much, as are my clients! Here is a peek from one of my recent tea party sessions

with twin sisters! They were so cute. I loved getting to photograph these girls again!

What a beautiful maternity session I had with Cassie up at the studio a couple weeks ago.

Before our session, she mentioned she had ordered a maternity dress and I couldn’t wait to see her in it.

And, as you’ll see for yourself, she looked stunning in it. It was certainly a favorite part of the session for me,

and for her too. Of course, I am also in love with the images of her and Kloe and Sam too!

Kloe is truly super excited to be a big sister! It’s so meaningful when you get the opportunity to photograph

people who are personally very special to you. These guys are just that. In fact, I have known Cassie since when

she herself was still in her mama’s tummy. I was there at the hospital the day she was born and she’s always

been a special girl to me. The thing is, she is no longer a girl.

And watching her come full circle with her own family and having her own children is really just amazing.

Here she is, a beautiful grown up woman with a husband, a daughter and now their son on the way.

Just a few more weeks and we will get to meet him. I cannot wait!

With any luck, I’ll make it to the hospital in time to photograph his arrival into this world!

I’ve been wanting to blog this session for so long and share all these images with you

of this little heartbreaker, Mr. Nolan.

Oh man! Those curls, his sweet face, and beautiful blue eyes!

His mom warned me that he was full of energy, and she wasn’t sure how he’d do for photos.

Well, she wasn’t kidding, but I used that energy of his and just let him play and chased him around!

The lighting and the weather couldn’t of been better for our session that evening.

I can’t wait for his next session!

p.s. I apologize for the large number of images in this post!

Our baby girl, Liza, just turned 11 this week! I’m telling you the years are literally flying by!

This year she didn’t want a friend party and just wanted to keep it simple. She

didn’t even want her usual cupcakes that I make for her, but opted for a cookie cake instead.

I took the day off of work and enjoyed wishing our birthday girl a great big Happy Birthday

as soon as she woke, and then it was right to the presents. There was a couple things she

had been wanting for a very long time, and hoped they were wrapped up for her in

one of the packages.

Since she wasn’t having a big birthday party this year and we knew how much she’s

been loving and wanting to learn snowboarding as she’s been “practicing” all winter with her

big brother’s old snowboard in our backyard on a (very small) hill, hubby had the great idea

to take her to Detroit Mountain, which is only about an hour away and is the perfect spot

for new snowboarders and skiers to learn! We invited one of her friends and away we went.

I can say without a doubt that this was one of her happiest birthdays! She loved it at Detroit

Mountain and was whizzing down the hills right off the bat. I was super impressed with her skills.

My hubby is the skier in our family, so he was on ski’s going up and down the hills with her and her friend.

And yes, you guessed it! I was the “photographer” for the day. Imagine that. I loved it!

It wasn’t long and they wanted to go up using the BIG chair lift and go down the BIG hills. I was more nervous

than them! They had a blast though and loved the bigger hills, and were already talking about “next time” they

are going on the biggest hills they have! I have no doubt they will!

We ended the day with an awesome supper at one of her favorite restaurants, Zorbaz Pizza, in Detroit Lakes.

What a great day! And just like that I have an 11 year old!
